Beauty Review: Babaria Caviar Cream and Babaria Perla Cream

Babaria Caviar Cream
The anti-aging cream with caviar extract is a rich night cream is effective at stimulating and regenerating skin through the night, when skin is in its peak repair phase.
It fights all signs of aging: skin disorganisation, wrinkles, loss of firmness. For comprehensive anti-aging effectiveness, this unique formula works while you sleep.

My recommendations:
• This is for more matured skin. I use it because I have premature skin aging due to too much sun exposure during my secondary school days.
• It contains Pure Caviar, Shea Butter and Aloe Vera which helps to stimulate cell metabolism.
• These ingredients also help to nourish your skin whilst maintaining the moisture to smooth out any fine lines and wrinkles.
• My skin looks and feels smoother and firmer after overnight regeneration.

Babaria Perla Cream
The day cream with SPF 15 has micronised pearl powder which gives a beautiful luminosity and glow to your skin, making it look fresher and younger.

It instantly makes your skin look fresher, younger and the fine lines appear lessened as the pearl bounces the light away from any imperfections. With its smoothing lifting action this moisturising day cream creates a great base for make up.

My recommendations:
• For the more mature skin
• Helps even out skin tones and helps to give a uniform colour to the skin. It did not help my freckles though.
• The pearl powder nourishes the skin, regains elasticity and retains a youthful radiant look.

• I like the fact that it has SPF 15. At least I do not have to apply another layer of sunblock.

~Budget Ken Fashion~

 I know I have procrastinated for too long.
Last entry was in October.
So sorry dears.
Recently, my bf has taken an interest in men's fashion.
(to my surprise... cos have always been trying to convert him to more fashionable clothing but to no avail)

First baby step:

Bought bermudas from Hang Ten (Bedok Central)
$16 (min 2 pcs)
so we bought 1 black and 1 khaki coloured.
 Then we found these white leather shoes in Century Square, Bata atrium sales.
Only $19!!!
But left with very very limited sizes.
Luckily this pair is the right size.

The next day, I went back to Hang Ten again and found this polo-T.
Looks similar to Giordano's ones but the lion has a crown.
But the good thing about it is that it cost only $13!!
Min 2 pcs again lah.. I bought the second pc for myself. A hot pink one.
(Giordano's one cost $33.. so ex..)

Since Qiu Qiu had an episode on men's fashion in Bugis Street,
we went to Bugis street on sunday to try and find cheap T-shirts for him to wear with the bermudas.
We found this striped T-shirt at $12 only.
The fabric is pretty soft and it goes well with the bermudas.
 We then found shoes for $19.90.
These also go well with the bermudas so I convinced him to buy.
This was the best design lah.
Not fully checkered... but the lines look tastefully fashionable.

We realised that a lot of shops were selling bermudas at $15 each and $25 for 2.
Only one shop sells them at 3 for $36 and the sales staff are not pushy.
So we decided to buy from them but only bought 2 lah.
 Bernudas: Light grey checkered lines

Bermudas: Light brown lines on cream background

~Slimming Aids~ Introduction

After reading through all the slimming steps, some people may be thinking that it is very tedious to slim down this way and wonder whether they can take some supplements to speed up their weight loss.

My answer to you is: There is no miracle supplement that will make you lose weight without you changing your diet or exercising. As what the word "supplements" implies, these only aid you in losing weight but you cannot skip all those slimming steps that I have listed in the previous posts.

There are so many products on the market that claims to help people to slim down.
These are usually herbal supplements.
How do we know whether the formula is an effective one?
How do the ingredients help me to slim down?
I like to research on the ingredients to see their benefits, what kind of effects they have on our bodies and of course the side effects.

Usually, the ingredients either increases your bowel movements or claims to help burn away your fats.

As this topic is very big, I will split it up into different parts, explaining commonly used ingredients and their claimed benefits and possible side effects. I will also include a part on prescription medicines that may aid in slimming process.

Part 1: Introduction
Part 2: Slimming teas/ drinks
Part 3: Slimming supplements
Part 4: Prescription medicines

~The Aging process of your skin~

I received a comment from a reader asking about anti-aging tips for 50 year-old.
So I went to read up in more detail about anti-aging. I decided to let you know the basics of aging first. Then you will understand why I make certain recommendations.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you know what happens to your skin as you get older?
As your body ages, the appearance and characteristics of your skin change.
1. Once you reach the age of 25, you can start seeing the visible effects of aging on your skin.
This is because your metabolism starts to slow down and so your skin replaces old cells more slowly. There is a slower turnover of the surface skin and even your wounds do not heal as fast.
2. After age 45, your skin starts to thin because of hormonal changes.
  • Because of the thinning, your skin becomes more fragile and vulnerable to damage by abrasion and more sensitive to irritating environmental factors and allergens.
  • The collagen and elastin in your skin suffer damages and your skin loses strength and elasticity.
  • When collagen begins to deteriorate, your skin starts to sag.
  • When elastin breaks down, you start to have wrinkles.
3. As you age, your oil-producing glands become less active, and your skin becomes drier.
  • These oil-producing glands produces sebum which covers your skin.
  • When the oil is removed by soaps or detergents, the skin becomes dry and leads to cracking and flaking.
  • This leads to your skin being more susceptible to inflammation and itching. Everyday factors that may cause drying of the skin include harsh soaps, long hot baths or showers.
We can tackle each point to slow down your aging process. I will talk about each point more closely in subsequent posts.
